Simba Telecom refunds stolen mobile money

By Drone Staff
Yesterday this website published a story about a Simba Telecom Teller that defrauded a client. Today, this same website can authoritatively write that the stolen money was reimbursed. Of course, the money was reimbursed after a long struggle that exhausted the client.
Imagine, the police that is mandated to protect lives and property did not live up to its mandate. The Jinja Road Police Station, where the case was reported, claimed the file was misplaced! This left Mercy Nalusiba, the victim hopeless.
Now, The Drone Media has gathered that the Simba Telecom Teller, who reportedly stole Nalusiba’s mobile money, had a secret line that she used to steal money from gullible clients.  Simba Telecom and MTN’s forensic team have zeroed on the mobile phone number that withdrew the money.
Mercylyna Mercy Nalusiba updated this website, saying: “Friends, it is only prudent that I update you. After I shared my mobile money ordeal here yesterday. Today, I met with a team from Simba Telecom, who resolved my complaint and reimbursed my money (Ugx 2million).
I appreciate the team from Simba Telecom for taking responsibility and refunding my ka money.
As to whether the culprits have been apprehended, I have been assured that the MTN forensics team is investigating to get to the bottom of the matter.
I thank you, dear friends and family, for widely sharing the post, for the calls, the prayers, and the messages of comfort and advice, that ultimately culminated into this positive action.
Going forward, I can only hope and pray that no other persons go through my ordeal and that we all be more vigilant.
Well, this is an eye opener to everyone using mobile money agents. It is a fraud alert! Ugandans need protection against such thugs. Besides, Uganda Police Force should style up, they are paid to protect lives and property.
