11th Parliament big on small things

Parliament

Today the Parliament of Uganda, the 11th Parliament passed a motion to censure Minister of State for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon Persis Princess Namuganza.  The house was half-ful,  356 MPs reportedly voted yes, 5 MPs voted no while 3 MPs abstained.

One MP, Hon Grace Namara, Woman Member of Parliament for Lyantonde said, on the floor of Prliament, that she was the only sober MP because she does not drink alcohol.  That means the MPs who passed the motion were not sober!

Besides, these MPs always dodge serious issues in Parliament, but they rushed to fight a personal war. Hon Persis Namuganza was mobbed; they did a mob justice to her. Yet, one of the shameful evidence stated by Hon Mwine Mpaka, which alleges that Namuganza behaved badly is a hearsay. ” Mbu she said in Luganda, ” Olaba nembwa zewasa.”  This statement was interpreted mechanically, that it meant a moslem MP who married a Catholic who even went to pope.

Well, Uganda is moving to a direction of greedy MPs. These MPs are not bothered by people whose rights have been abused simply because they did not please their boss.  Dozens have been tortured by operatives paid by Anita Annet Among.  While Aggrey Aruho was the chief bodyguard of Anita Among, he led a group of operatives who tortured scores of innocent Ugandans.

How can a parliment led by such be considered resposible? There are many issues affecting Ugandans, but this parliament ignores such issues and opt for a censure motion.

Here is a mother kissing a son, but they will pretend it was not brought to their attention. They will go for Namuganza because she did not please their boss.

Seriously, misconduct and torture which is more hurting to Ugandans? Anita Annet Among hired security operatives to torture our editor, Pidson Kareire.  Every life matters, please MPs.
