The Drone Media has established that the refurbished Uganda Airlines made sh40bn from passenger revenue in 2020.  According to a source who talked to this channel, the Airline carried 77,355 passengers for the year ended June 2020, registering a shortfall of 10% from its target of 85,760 passengers.

Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019. Uganda Airlines is Uganda’s flagship national passenger and cargo carrier.

The Airline provides scheduled air transportation services in East Africa and near-international markets. On 23rd April 2019, the Airlines received the first two Bombardier CRJ900s, the first of a growing fleet. During the first phase of operations, it began by flying to the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu.

With the upcoming arrival and addition of new planes to the fleet, the Airline will expand its route map and fly to DRC, Zanzibar, Asmara, Hargeisa, Lusaka, Harare, Johannesburg, Djibouti, and Addis Ababa, and plan to make international flights connecting Uganda to Europe, the Middle East, West Africa and Asia.

By the end of 2021, Uganda Airline will serve 20 destinations, that was the promise at its maiden flight. The airline was founded as a revival of the old Uganda Airlines, which flew between 1976–2001. It launched flights in August 2019 with a flight from Entebbe to Jomo Kenyatta International, and rolled out other flights to build its route network shortly after.

Uganda Airlines plans on operating a number of new routes out of Hoima International Airport, once the new airport is built and open in 2021. Although yet to be announced, the airline is looking for new routes to both regional and international destinations.
