Birthday brings back Weasle into limelight

Douglass Mayanja alias Weasle Manizo is today in the news as a result of his birthday wishes. Weasle who is turning 38, was born in 1985 in Kawempe to Mr & Mrs Gerald Mayanja.

Ever since the death of Mowzey Radio aka Moses Nakintije, who was his singing partner, Weasle conspicuously disappeared from entertainment pages as well as social scenes. The truth is that Weasle has been struggling to raise his profile, but with no effect.

He has done collabos, but they remain as dummy sheets. Given the level the duo had hit, he needed high voltage music to retain their position or overlap it. This is why his brother, Pallaso who was not known, he later surpassed him.  Yet at the time of death of Mowzey Radio, Pallaso could not be hired to perform even as low as sh200,000 but today they say without sh9m he won’t step on your stage.

Weasle who had gone beyond such level dropped to zero. Today, he is only remembered because of the past musical works. Weasel Manizo sings reggae raga and dancehall. He made a name under the famous Goodlyf Crew with his singing partner the late Mowzey Radio who passed on in 2018.

Before Weasle joined the Goodlyf Crew he was under his brother’s Leone Island group where he started his career and was known for his hit single called Bomboclat which he released in 2005 featuring his brother Jose Chameleone.

It is in this group where he teamed up with his singing partner Mowzey Radio and their long time manager Jeff Kiwa who was managing their boss Chameleone at the time.  Weasel is known for their hit singles such as Nakudata, Zuena, Lwaki onumya and many more.

At the climax of their music career, the duo enjoyed unprecedented popularity that was source of envy to many local artists.
