This classy, open-air Ugandan restaurant in atmospheric surrounds features simple decking in an African setting, lit at night with the help of KCCA (Kampala Capital City Authority) lights. The local chef creates fantastic authentic dishes including thin-crust pizzas and handmade pastas but with emphasis on pilau.

They also serve up steaks and gourmet mains such as grilled rock lobster. Reservations are recommended and food delivery is also taken into consideration.

The aptly named Uhuru(peace) is a lovely pilau restaurant where carnivores wanting something different can feast on anything from burgers and wildebeest steaks to fish in garlic wine sauce. If you’re really into the idea, go the pilau platter or the 1.5kg goat that feeds four. Less adventurous diners won’t be disappointed with goat steaks. Thankfully the cute bunnies roaming the grounds aren’t on the menu!
