Ephraim Ntaganda loses case vs Dr Kagwa Apollo
The Director of Public Prosecutions has discontinued a case businessman Ephraim Ntaganda had maliciously lodged against Dr Apollo Kagwa.
According to a letter dated 27th May 2022 referrencing a calling letter dated 10th May 2022 Ref PRO 29/102/20 regarding KMP GEF 037/2022 Uganda Vs Dr Kagwa Apollo, the file was submitted as called for.
In response to the above therefore, court case no.. CO644-2022 DPP case no MANDCOD/08-2022, Police case no KMP GEF 037-2022 that was before The Chief Magistrates Makindye Court, in favour of Uganda Vs Dr Kagwa Apollo, has been discontinued.
This is to inform Court that the Director of Public Prosecutions has decided to discontinue proceedings against Dr Kagwa Apollo who was being charged with Libel C/S 179 and 522 of the penal code ACT CAP 120. ” a withdrawal Form dated 6/6/2022 and signed by Jane Frances Abodo Director of Public Prosecutions reads.
It should be remembered that businessman Ephraim Ntaganda, who wanted to grab Dr Apollo Kagwa’s land in Kajjansi, later feigned a complaint at Kampala Metropolitan Police, and the illadvised officers raided his home with intent to detain him. This whole arrangement was intended to grab his property.
According to sources at DPP there was nothing in the file, apart from Ntaganda’s complaint.
Apparently, this is what police is doing. They get facilitated by either party and the victims find themselves in court. This is because court cases are not straightforward, victims depend on the mercy of God. Manipulations are part and partial of the processes. DPP still stands as the only saviour in this corrupt circle of officials.
The Drone Media did dig into this only to find an organised group of corrupt officials, who systematically conive to make their missions succeed. Once a victim is identified, they will open a General Enquiry File (GEF), they use this file because it is provided for in penal code, but in the process they abuse it. Authorities should help the public, common man is in trouble.
