Hon Anita Among brands alcohol at Kyankwanzi

The Bukedea Women representative/MP Hon Anita Among has shocked the nation.  In a bid to lure the newly elected MPs to vote for her as a Deputy Speaker of Parliament 2021-2026; Among branded alcohol, which she distributed to all MPs who were in the bus going for NRM retreat in Kyankwanzi.

One of the shocked MPs was overheard speaking alone, ” Where we have reached, people are branding alcohol in their names to supply to MPs on their way to Kyankwanzi retreat. I pray for our country.”

A Drone hovering over the bus captured a brochure, which Hon Anita Among distributed along with the branded drinks, including alcohol. Besides, a Drone gathered that the brochure did not go alone; mbu whoever got the brochure would also receive sh500,000 to help them read properly the brochure.

MPs who are considered “serious contenders” for the office of Deputy Speaker,” include Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth (West Budama South), Hon Thomas Tayebwa (Ruhinda North),  Hon. Anita Among (Woman MP Bukedea) and Ms Robinah Rwakoojo (Gomba West).

It is from this group of six MPs that the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the NRM is supposed to vet a candidate for Deputy Speaker ahead of the 1st sitting of the 11th Parliament on May 20 when these two positions will be voted for.

But this thing of alcohol; campaigning using alcohol, Hon Anita Among should know what the Bible says about alcohol. The Bible says, in Proverbs chapter 31: 4-7

4 It is not for kings, Lemuel—

it is not for kings to drink wine,

not for rulers to crave beer,

5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed,

and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.

6 Let beer be for those who are perishing,

wine for those who are in anguish!

7 Let them drink and forget their poverty

and remember their misery no more.
