Jose Chameleone music journey of decades

Uganda’s Jose Chameleon’s music journey of 20 years

Uganda’s Jose Chameleon aka Joseph Mayanja has completed 20 years in music while he is undisputed number one singer in the country.

Chameleon who recently released another nice song titled Mateeka, began his music journey in 1998 with a song titled Bageya.  The song was a hit but it did not wake up Ugandans it did wake up Kenyans.

Mama Mia is the song that woke up Ugandans, that is why most think he started singing in 2000. However, since he released Bageya, Chameleon has never been on the bottom of music charts in Uganda and the whole of East Africa.

He thereafter released songs like Beyi Kali, a pulsating and captivating song that ruled East Africa. He has in music archives songs like Dorotia, Mama Rhoda, Shida Za Dunia, Kipepeo, Katupakase, Fuga mbi, Bomboclat and many award winning songs.

Along his music journey, Chameleon has faced challenges, he has been in fights some of them self_imposed while others are due to his supremacy over music.

In fact, one of his advisers once told him not to be bothered because in a football match the players chase the one having the ball. So as long as Chameleon is still on top of Uganda’s entertainment industry and topping music charts, he will not avoid hates.

As you read this, this is what is on singer Jose Chameleon’s mind:

“As we excel and strive to be good, better and best. Life has taught me that the best energy spent must be on the people who love you. When you spend time on those that dislike you,You are already defeated.

“I will always be strong against hateful people coz love is automatic hate is a choice.”

Chameleon says, “We got millions and millions who know that we are Great and men of value. Because we didn’t make them dance and forget their reality. We touched their souls in a special way.”
