Eddy Kenzo and Matt B in Grammy Awards

Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo  alias Edrisi Musuza and American singer Matt B are already in California USA ahead of the Grammy awards.

Eddy Kenzo and Matt B were nominated for their collaboration song Gimme Love in the category of best global performance.

The 2023 GRAMMYs will be broadcast live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles Sunday, Feb. 5 (8:00-11:30 PM, e on the CBS Television Network and other platforms

After landing in LA, Eddy Kenzo said he is optimistic that the award is theirs come what may

“I touched down in LA!! Nice to see my great brother Matt B  and his wife Angella Benson. We are fired up and ready to take on the GRAMMYs this Sunday Feb 5th thank you to all of the fans for your prayers and blessings. We see you all, we love you, and we are all in this together God’s got us!,” Kenzo posted on his social media platforms.

On the other hand Matt B said he is also optimistic that the award for the best Global performance is theirs

“My brother Eddy Kenzo has touched down in LA. We are fired up and ready to take on the Grammy’s this Sunday Feb 5th. Thank you all the fans for your prayers and blessings. We see you all, we love you and we are all in this together,” he said.

Other African artistes that were nominated in the Grammy’s are Tems, Burna Boy, Rocky Dawuni, and Angélique Kidjo.

According to wikepedia,the Grammy Awards (stylized as GRAMMY), or simply known as the Grammys, are awards presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize “outstanding” achievements in the music industry.

They are regarded by many as the most prestigious, significant awards in the music industry worldwide. It was originally called the Gramophone Awards, as the trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.

The Grammys are the first of the Big Three networks’ major music awards held annually, and is considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards, alongside the Academy Awards (for films), the Emmy Awards (for television), and the Tony Awards (for theater).

The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4, 1959, to honor the musical accomplishments of performers for the year 1958.

After the 2011 ceremony, the Recording Academy overhauled many Grammy Award categories for 2011.
