Journalist reportedly gunned down in Kanyanya, Kampala

Reports reaching our desk reveal that former Red Pepper journalist Hadad Mubiru has been shot dead by unknown assailants.

 

Hadad Mubirú was reportedly shot dead in Kanyanya, a Kampala suburb a few minutes to 8pm and that he died instantly. The cause of the shooting is not yet established, but police is yet to react on his death. Hadad Mubiru’s body was found lying lifeless by the road side. He was also attached to BTM TV. Police remains tightlipped on this gruesome murder of a journalist. As it is, it is one of the mystery murders that have been occurring in this country.

Hadad Mubiru  was fondly referred to as Rasta Hadi, a Journalist working with BTM TV and Red Pepper,  breathed his last in the late hours of the evening. He was one common face at all media briefings & indeed had great interest in Hon. Kyagulanyi Court case.

He did many inquisitive interviews at the Supreme Court on the day the Presidential Petition was filed. It is surprising that the murder that was done in glare view of multiple police cameras, nothing has been revealed. Hadad as a journalist has been inseparable with covering investigative scenes and stories.

One may think his murder is inseparable from his journalism works. Many believe  and think that possibly his coverage of political activities may have triggered his demise.

However, The Drone Media has established that some individuals have taken advantage of this political upheaval to carry out their ill intentions. Police officers are also transferring their misplaced anger to whoever comes across their pass. There is violence boiling around.

Another view may be that security men have concentrated on monitoring and arresting politicians leaving high handed criminals combing villages and murdering people.
