Middle East Consultants duplicates 8 counts

His Worship Okumu Muwonge today Thursday, July 4, 2019 advised the lawyer of Middle East Consultants’s Gordon Mugyenyi to amend  counts/ charges preferred against Pidson Kareire of The Drone Media and make it one or two charges.

According to His Worship Okumu Muwonge, the counts were many yet mean one charge; they are similar. Kareire was appearing for the third time in a case he was sued by Gordon Mugyenyi over stories he published about the labour exporting company.

Last Monday, the case was adjourned after the defense lawyer Daniel Walyemera asked for the disclosure and amendment of counts.

Fortunately, today the plaintiff served the defense lawyer with the necessary documents, but he was advised accordingly.

As a matter of fact, The Drone Media published the truth about Middle East Consultants. It is the first media house to expose the cheating tactics of Middle East Consultants. The labour exporting company has been cheating gullible Ugandans.

Middle East Consultants used all the money to bribe police, security and journalists. In fact, a source tells the Drone Media that whenever Pidson Kareire’s case came over their agents would splash money all over not to publish the story.

Well, His Worship Okumu Muwonge, today at 9:30am dismissed the case, cities many reasons which including malicious prosecution.

However, His Worship declined to compensate Pidson Kareire as some sections of Private prosecution allows. He said he was sympathetic because he has seen hundreds of cases against Middle East Consultants.

Before Gordon Mugyenyi sent the security operatives who harassed Pidson Kareire, he vowed to send him to Luzira Prisons and lots there. However, the reverse is true.

Some sources have intimated that Gordon Mugyenyi is under arrest and is in Masaka prison.

In June this year, on 12th June 2019, some lumpens masquerading as police officers stormed Pidson Kareire’s home without local council (LCI) officials, they bundled him onto a pick up truck to Kabalagala police.

This was illegal. He was supposed to be arrested by Old Kampala police and tried by LDC Court not Makindye court. They violated the law of jurisdiction.

Pidson Kareire was helped by lawyers from Human Rights Network for Journalists Uganda (HRNJ) and specifically represented  by Dan Walyemera of Walyenera and company advocates.
