Two men have been caught smuggling gold under their wigs

Two men will be penalized for their crimes after being caught smuggling gold and cash underneath their wigs.  Magroob Akbarali and Zubair Hassan Rafiyutheen’s suspicious hairstyles caught the attention of border officials at Chennai Airport in India.

The duo had just flown in from Dubai and were taken away by officers who began filming their thorough search of the suspects.   They soon discovered the pair had shaven their heads like monks, leaving a round patch of skin on their scalp.

The black toupees were laid out on a table by the officers

Covering this was a black toupee which had the job of concealing two parcels filled with cash and gold paste, weighing nearly a kilo. In the footage, the fake hair is peeled back to reveal the black packets they had glued to their heads.  But it didn’t stop there – gold was also recovered from their socks and rectums.

Customs officials said the seized gold and cash was worth a total of $382,943 (£277,900). The cash, along with chunks of gold and other illicit items was laid out on the counter as the crooks look on in embarrassment.
