Uganda’s army officers fight over a woman

War has broken up between two UPDF officers who are fighting  over  a woman.
This battle is between a major and his boss a lieutenant Colonel over a woman that both claim.

Major Gerald Bamwitirebye(in suit) was once in a blissful affair with Mercy Kansiime the woman in contention and oh how close they were even holding an introduction on the 11th November, 2012 in Ntungamo.

Along the way two children were born but something happened later driving the pair apart and off Mercy ran straight into the arms of Bamwitirebye’s boss Lt. Col Deogratius Asiimwe(in army uniform) whose bed she has warmed ever since to this day.

Mercy says Col Asiimwe knows how to handle a woman and navigate all the corners Bamwitirebye never could. But Bamwitirebye insists Mercy is his wife even when they were never legally married and run to the courts of law to put an injunction on Kansiime and Asiimwe’s wedding that was slated for this month at our lady of Africa church Mbuya.

The injunction was served and the wedding stopped. Col. Asiimwe and Mercy have also challenged Major Bamwitirebye to produce documents to back his claims a thing he is yet to do as it is said he has none.

Mercy stings Bamwitirebye saying he did not receive her parents blessing unlike Asiimwe who has fulfilled all obligations for marriage. And that he also abandoned her and the children and has only come back to cause trouble for them.

Bamwitirebye goes to say that Col. Asiimwe is married to another woman who is also a UPDF officer lance corporal Sarah Takoberwa whom he is trying to abandon though the said woman has not yet spoken up her mind.

“It is good that the matter has become public, this can reduce chances of blood shed,” a UPDF officer, who did not want to be quoted, observed.
