77 DOGS mass weddings.

YES! HAVE ALL THE SEX WITHOUT A CHURCH WEDDING, ITS LEGAL AND BIBLICAL!

I make this post in response to comments in the new vision of Wednesday 19th attributed to a one pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre and the now famous 77 DOGS.

In that paper, he was quoted saying he was to “save people from sin of adultery” by engaging then in “church marriage/matrimony”, through a mass wedding that happened yesterday.

Not only are Pastor Kayanja’s comments grossly misleading, but they are also a direct attack against the traditions of Africa, our values and fuel added to the flame of inferiority complex that has bedeviled the African mind to think that all things evil are African, and only those from the Western world being good and worth embracing.

Christian friend, correct me if am wrong, what am sure of is that the Bible has only one notorious wedding, the one at Cana in Galilee. Even in that story, captured by John 2:1-12 the main subject of attention was the miracle of turning water into wine, the wedding, A BIG BY THE WAY, mentioned only as the event at which the miracle happened. What the bible requires is marriage, and love that people shouldn’t engage in sexual intercourse before marriage. Now, what is marriage? Marriage is the legal relationship of a man and woman being husband and wife (I don’t want to delve into LGBT marriages for now) period! So, whether or not you go to church, mosque etc is immaterial, long as the law recognizes you as married, so does GOD! In Uganda today, the law recognizes five types of marriages, Civil marriages performed by the court registrars, the Church marriage like Kayanja performs, the Mohammedian marriage like is done in mosques, Hindu marriage, and Traditional marriage performed according to the customs of at least one of the partners. Its inexplicable why couples perform Kwanjula/Kuhingira/Keny and all those traditional marriages and yet go again to church to have a wedding! Wedding, as is done in church is an English tradition, its their ‘Kwanjuala/kuhingira.’……et al. Btw, even a marriage can be inferred even from ‘o’Kukyala’. Of course, weddings are a big source of revenue to churches, that I can’t overlook.

Africans, tweddeko! BUBU has to be everywhere, and those belittling our cherished traditions ought to be corrected.
