Chaapa Old Boys pay tribute to James Kishaija

The Old Boys of Mbarara High School Chaapa  today were part of hundreds of mourners who congregated at Kyakanekye Primary School in Rwampara, Mbarara district to pay last respects to their former Headmaster, James Kishaija, who passed on Monday at Mbarara Referral Hospital.

James Kishaija was a Headmaster at Chaapa Ente (Mbarara High School) in 1980s and  his chronicles during his time are many, but one prominent one is that he was driven out school by rioting students, who had threatened to rape his wife they had nicknamed ‘Kagomire.”  Late Kishaija had retaliated by sending one of the students who calling his wife Kagomire to bring his mother so that they can compare and see who was Kagomire.

 

At the burial ground  today, the VIPs included Robert Mwesigye Rukari MP Mbarara City North, Hon. Dr. Mederd Bitekyerezo (Bitex) former MP Mbarara Municipality & OB Chaapa, who represented the Mbarara High School OBs with a condolence of sh7,050,000= (sh7m) the envelope was handed over to the widow Joyce Mbabazi Kishaija by the Ag.CM. Mbarara High School OBs Dr. Milton Rwangire.

 

Others included Hon. Rosette Mutambi Kajungu former Woman MP Mbarara District, Robert Kwesiga Director Red Cross-K’la (& he was MC of the day).  Hon. Stephen Tashobya former MP Kajara county and currently is the Commissioner at Electoral Commission (EC), Johnson Bashekye Muhinda, who represented the Rwampara county MP Hon. Amos Kankunda (Akooki).

 

Also in attendance was Ham Ahimbisibwe- the Headmaster Mbarara High School, Karuhanga Chaapa- former Presidential Candidate (and a brother in law to late Kishaija).

 

The government was represented by Mbarara City North Member of Parliament Hon. Robert Mwesigye Rukari.
The 2nd part of the Church was led by Rev.Charles Sekitoreko, Bukuna COU assisted by ley reader Ayebazibwe Wilberforce and Rev.Can. Bobs Mwesigye the Archdeacon of All Saints Church, Mbarara was a day’s preacher.
