is it true Hon Rukutana has 12 wives?

Hon. Mwesigwa Rukutana believes in polygamy and is married to 4 wives with 15 children, according to his interview with Daily Monitor, of the Uganda’s  news paper, in 2010.

Although the gun-man of Rushenyi, Ntungamo District, declared only four wives; people have seen more 8; four of these he reportedly refused to declare them in the press interview while the other four he added them later on after The Daily Monitor interview.

A story is told that his 12th wife was one of his workers at Millennium Hotel.  He then decided to take her to the village so that she could look after Hon Rukutana’s mother.  He travelled late to the village and when they reached Ntungamo; Hon Rukutana went for a bitter drink. After one to many; he got some ideas while he meditated on them the girl excused herself to go to ladies.  Mbu Hon Rukutana saw the sparsely itched cellulites of the girl and decided to spend a night at Ntungamo Town, but later changed his mind and went to Kagugu Trading Centre; of course, with the girl. The following day Hon. Rukutana told the girl to inform her parents that he was dropping bride price any time. In other words; Hon Rukutana had confirmed his 12th wife.

Mwesigwa Rukutana, is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He was former Deputy Attorney General of Uganda. He was transferred from attorney general chambers to Minister of State for Labour and he is currently Rushenyi County Member of Parliament.

On 6 September 2020 after being defeated by Naome Kabasharira in the NRMprimaries, Rukutana turned violent and took a gun from one of his bodyguards and shot two people who were rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. The police in Ntungamo District arrested and detained Rukutana and his three bodyguards following a shooting incident.
