BMK succumbs to cancer; Businessman Patrick Bitature eulogizes his fellow entrepreneur

Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige, commonly known as BMK has passed on. BMK is a Ugandan businessman, entrepreneur, and hotel owner. He was one of the wealthiest people in Uganda. He was the proprietor of Hotel Africana.

BMK who has been sick for a long time has eventually succumbed to cancer. BMK is said to have died from Nairobi, Kenya after a long period of illness.

Popular among his multiple business establishments is Hotel Africana and the BMK Group.

”We have lost one of the people with special business acumen in Uganda. He was very humble, jovial, generous, very religious, extremely very understanding, a patriot and a nationalist,” Ngabirano Sam, Kikuubo businessman, eulogized the hotelier.

Businessman Patrick Bitature eulogizes: “I met Haji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige who we fondly know as BMK 30 years ago at an ice cream parlour called Bimbo. We were both members of a group of young and focused men that shared mutual business ethical values, discipline, ambition and willingness to share ideas and opportunities.

He would speak to us all with enthusiasm and didn’t hold back any business trade secrets whilst engaging with us.

These valuable conversations played an instrumental role in guiding and moulding me into the businessman I am today.
