Dangerous tree at Namungoona, Kampala

By Drone Team

Meet the dangerous tree branch at Namungoona, which the locals allege to have rejected cutting. A tree! Rejecting cutting! These, indeed, are end times!

Now, which government department is responsible?  Let them be ashamed.  You cannot fail to serve and protect citizens, claiming nonsense. Are authorities waiting for disaster to occur so that they come rushing to claim this and that?

Ever read about the Witch Tree of Mubende called Nyakahuma (Runyon) or Nakayima (Luganda)? This is a similar story. Nakayima tree is another overrated plant where people go for “spiritual healing and blessing purposes”. Such beliefs are common with many unique creatures like big stones, rocks, hot springs, water falls etc. Africans tend to attach spiritual importance on them.

A year ago, a certain ritual tree called Nabukalu in Mpigi was cut into timber to clear the way for the Mpigi highway. The owners wanted 500m, UNRA was giving them 140m but Court ruled that they be given 4m.

you cannot claim that the tree ‘rejected being cut’ is that rational? You can’t say that a church or mosque rejected demolition. Even the temples in Jerusalem were destroyed by the Romans.

Someone claims he has twice seen trees cut, fall and get back in position until certain rituals are fulfilled. Can you Imagine!

Someone says, “I remember the rush to the burial site of Msgr Ngombya in Mpigi or Masaka. Personally I thought there were fake stories around it.”

In one of the contesious property claims, land owners had been compensated and were not complaining. It was those who were using the tree for ritual purposes who wanted 500m in compesation.

Now, in all the above, should we assume that authorities are devil worshippers or they sympathisize with the people who worship such? How can they leave that dangerous tree that can cause havoc any time.
