Former Public service Minister passes on

Rukungiri: The former public service minister and the former Rukungiri district woman member of parilament Hon. Prisca Sezi Bessy Mbaguta has passed on.

Sezi Prisca Bessy Mbaguta was a Ugandan politician and civil servant. She was the State Minister for Public Service in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was oppointed to that position in June 2006. In the cabinet reshuffle of 16 February 2009, and that of 27 May 2011, she retained her cabinet portfolio.

Hon.Mbaguta breathed her last today 10 Jan.2023 morning at her home in Nakasero Kampala according to her son Brain Mbaguta.

Brain Mbaguta said that his mother was well and had no any chronical disease, she left them watching TV and went to sleep as usual but in the morning she was found dead in her bed.

“We had super together after she left us in the sitting room watching TV and went to her bed. It is were she died from. I can’t comment much because am seriously grieving” He told our reporter in a phone call interview.

The former Minister passed on in the sleep, she was not sick neither with a health illness
Hon. Mbaguta represented women of Rukungiri district in the 9th parilament. She also participated in 2018 Rukungiri district woman member of parilament by- election but lost with 993 votes.

She also worked as the state minister for public service a position she held for 10 years and was one of the best performing ministers.

Prisca was one of the social people in the community and a down to earth person. She has a long and extensive public service career, starting in 1975, when she worked as the senior personnel officer, in the Public Service Commission, a position she held until 1980. Between 1980 and 1983, she served as the principal personnel officer in the Public Service Commission, and as the chief personnel officer in the Ministry of Public Services, from 1983 until 1990.
