Democratic Party has launched the 2021 Election Strategy

Democratic Party (DP) has launched the 2021 Election Strategy.  The seasonal party that is now led by Norbert Mao gathered all the small party with intention to form a united force against Kiiza Besigye’s Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and National Resistance Movement (NRM).
As it is now,  DP, SDP, PP, CP and JEEMA, are a united force.  However, the beneficiary of this unity is the People Power and the losers remain FDC.Many said People Power was weak without structures and team to win against NRM,  but with DP and other parties on board People Power is now at the same footing with FDC.

FDC became powerful after recruiting from DP, DP later noticed that its members were only leaving to join another party while weakening DP. In this new Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) which is legal by the way members stay in their parties.

People Power supporters who have been hoping for positions are not very happy with this MOU it does talk about them considering other parties have formidable candidates, Bobi Wine may be given the flag but he will not take MP positions away from other parties.

It looks all the parties that have endorsed this MOU have no desire to compete for the presidency, leave alone Mao and Mugisha Mutu both of them know why they can’t be presidents of Uganda now, they have both come to terms with that position. They are target politicians.

Knowing Col. Kiiza Besigye he will find a way to come back and sting them, he will either front Lukwago or come back himself but he will not join the group.

He knows that if he joins the group they will not make him flag bearer, instead, they will crush him and make him a loser.

Expect clashes between People Power members and these other party members for positions. Bobi Wine’s team that had given themselves positions are going to fight to hold on to these positions, this is like Bobi Wine joining and leaving his team behind.

Now expect FDC going full swing into Kampala and other towns, just to show they still have the power and will of the people, police will want to stop them and teargas will be all over, its just going to become expensive for FDC.

Mao: To us, the function that took place today is significant, it was a formal settlement. Uganda requires strong political parties, we as DP fought for the political multi-party system.

We feel honoured that in a show of solidarity, we had Gen Mugisha Muntu, a man of integrity. In the same spirit, we were honoured to have Kyagulanyi. Their presence was a sign that we share solidarity, that we share common values.

All of us are frustrated by this traffic jam caused by NRM. The savage and personal attacks on the colleagues we are trying to work with assumes improper motives from people.

I believe our intentions are good. Not revealing everything doesn’t mean I’m not being honest.

We as a political party have withstood factionalism, and a lot of splits. What we’re trying to do is build a vehicle that can engage other players.
