Gen. Salim Saleh quashes Jose Chameleone

News from Gulu where Gen. Salim Saleh seats indicate that singer Jose Chameleone’s recent formed Association known as Superstar Association was quashed by the moneyed army general.

According to The Drones, Gen. Salim Saleh said all artists in Uganda should be in one group, which is Uganda Musicians Association (UMA).

The Drones report that Gen. Saleh was reportedly meeting members of a recent formed association known as Superstar Association, which includes Jose Chameleone and his brothers Pallaso and Weasle, Abdu Mulasi and a few others. In the meeting, The Drones learnt, Gen. Saleh noted there was discrepancy in the formation of the association.

Early this month, Jose Chameleone ditched UMA and opened up the Uganda Superstar Association. All musicians in Uganda have always been regulated or governed by one association known as Uganda Musicians’ Association (UMA).

Anyway, Jose Chameleone claimed  the leaders in UMA became dictatorial that is why he decide to form his association. However, the association Jose Chameleone formed lacked sense of direction and was more of a family association. It was the Mayanja Association………..like

On 28th June, 2021 Jose Chameleon came out and announced the formation of Uganda Superstar Association, he has since then urged all musicians to enter his association and benefit from it as musicians.

He thereafter created a divergent project called Uganda Musicians’ Foundation (UMF) and Jose Chameleon became the founder as well as the president of the foundation. This, therefore, put an end to Cindy’s Leadership for all musicians in Uganda as some were divided with some artists like David Lutalo, Kabaako, Legendary woman musician Betty Mpologoma, Weasel Manizo, and many others joining this foundation.

Jose Chameleon said; “I want to thank all of you that have elected and entrusted me with this big opportunity. I promise not to let you down and will lead you diligently. I call upon other organizations to come and join us because this is the father of all entertainment associations in Uganda. Our role will be to promote Ugandan music beyond borders. We are not here to fight anyone but to work with everyone for the good of our industry.”
