Noonya money singer Red Banton turns 50, but ……

Do you remember a singer called Red Banton  aka Tonny Lubega who had a major hit song ‘Noonya Money’ back in the 1990s? This guy, Red Banton, became a hit maker before Jose Chameleone. In fact, Chameleone still adores him.

Today Red Banton still looks a lad, but has turned 50 years of age. After so many years of silence; he has woken up to celebrate the 50 years of looking for money (Noonya Money). Yes, the lanky man sang! He is still an artiste to reckon on.

He is mostly remembered for his 2000s monster hit ‘Sija Kuva Kampala’  and Noonya Money. Oh! who cursed Ugandan artistes? Apparently the song  ‘ Sijja Kuva Kampala’ was meant to send a message to the haters that he is not leaving Kampala no matter what.

The Masaka-Born Tonny Lubega known to many as Red Banton, was at one time, about two decades ago, among the biggest names on the music scene in Uganda.
