President Yoweri Museveni finally gets Kirumira report on Kawukuumi

By Our Writer

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni last weekend met the executive members of the late Mohammad Kirumira ‘s Nalufenya torture victims’ group who handed to him a secret report prepared by the fallen police officer shortly before he was gunned down.

The meeting which went on in late hours at Nakasero State Lodge, included the Nalufenya group headed by Rt Maj Godfrey Galabuzi Musisi, who told the president that Kirumira was planning to lead them to State house to give in the detailed report but was suddenly killed.

According to highly placed sources, Muhammad Kirumira had compiled all what he thought were trouble, criminal and insecurity elements especially in the police force and sister security organizations in to his report.

The report also has details of torture chambers of Nalufenya where he was once imprisoned just like other members of the group.

The source further revealed to this website that Museveni had until this meeting not been well aware that Kayihura had sent Kirumira to Nalufenya .

A source told this reporter that on receiving the report and seeing late Kirumira having signed as the chairman asked Maj Galabuzi if indeed Kayihura had taken Kirumira to Nalufenya.

He even called upon Maj Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso to cross check and Nalweyiso answered in the affirmatives.

The group of about seven members also included Mr BK Bukenya who was arrested by police and displayed by the then IGP , Gen Kale Kayihura before the media as the man who was behind the rampant pang welding attacks also known as ‘Bijambiya.’

Bukenya a fire brand from Iraq was then incarcerated to Nalufenya for about two months before he was cleared by ISO and other security groups to have been erroneously arrested.

He has since sued Kayihura, the Attorney Genral and the police institution.

Maj Galabuzi on the other hand,  a former UPDF officer was arrested after the gruesome murder of former police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi and locked up in Nalufenya.

He has since petitioned the Uganda human rights and also sued over his detention and torture.

During this meeting its said the head of state promised some security to the Nalufenya victims who wished and felt insecure.

A source actually intimated to us that he cleared those with military back ground to get armed if they so wished to boost their security.

This came high on fears that the Nalufenya group may soon attract enemies just like their fallen chairman did.

After his demise, Maj Galabuzi took the mantle of the group assitested by Mr Bukenya.

When contacted Galabuzi and Bukenya told this writer that ‘its true we met the president to give him the report but refused to give more details.

A source from state house confirmed to this website that the meeting actually took place.
