Survivor reveals truth about the Link Bus Accident

Exlusive story from a survivor has revealed truth about the Link Bus Accident that claimed over 20 lives. This might instil a sense of hopelessness, but truth must find its way to clear-headed Ugandans.

A survivor in the Link Bus accident that occurred on 4th May, 2022 on Fort Portal -Kampala Road; who preferred to remain unmentioned, has told The Drone Media that the cause of accident was natural death of the driver.

The survivor exclusively revealed that the driver of the bus, a one Paul Hassan Ssempagala alias Big Daddy, died shortly before the bus rolled.  According to the survivor, Ssempagala died on steering and the bus had nobody to control it.  Ssempagala reportedly died of stroke (commonly known as pressure in the local lingo).

This explains why police could not pin a specific cause of the Link Bus accident. However, due to corruption  in this country; this avenue of investigations, was ignored. In the report prepared by Ministry of Works and Transport; and read to the public at Media Centre, survivors’ excerpts were conspicously absent.

According to analysts, it was intentional because drivers are supposed to be subjected to health check up; actually regular check ups, which could have not been the case in this matter. Well, whatever went wrong in the report, but the truth is that the driver died a natural death before the bus was involved in the accident.

In fact, some other drivers suspected that the driver could have slept, but the survivor has put the record clear. The bus which was involved in the accident was registration number UBA 00 3S. The bus veered off and overturned several times, killing over 20 people on spot including the turnboy.

The Link Bus accident actually happened at Ssebitoli near Fort Portal-Kyenjojo Road.
