Tanzania’s Mr. Nice stuck in a Kampala hotel

Tanzania’s legend Mr.Nice Mkenda of Kikulacho fame is reportedly held up in Sports View Hotel in Kireka near Kampala.

Snoops at The Drone Media have been reliably informed that Mr. Nice was hired by Abbey Musinguzi aka Abtex of Abtex Promotions to perform at a music fest dubbed as Ekyeppukulu 2018, but he did not perform.

The Ekyeppukulu was held at Mandela Stadium ( commonly known as Namboole) last night, Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Mr.Nice traveled from Tanzania and was booked in Sports View Hotel by Abtex Promotions, anticipating large sums of money as in gate collections.

Snoops also learnt that Abtex anticipated that he would get over 25,000 music fans, instead he got 15, 000 paid up tickets. This brought the total gate collections to sh110m, yet the expenses were way beyond.

The cost of the event was around sh200m. This made Abtex flee from the venue. Sensing the danger, the stage managers did not allow Mr. Nice to perform.

The Tanzania’s legend remained in the hotel till the music fest ended at a half past midnight. Fortunately, Abtex had paid up the bill and the transport that brought him.

However, Mr. Nice had drunk booze worth sh240,000. This was discovered when Balaam Barugahara sent emissaries at the hotel.

The Drone Media has learnt that Balaam had volunteered sh1m but Mr. Nice, who was visibly annoyed refused the money.

Snoops have also learnt that Balaam was not involved in signing contracts with singers at the Ekyeppukulu. His role was marketing the show and manning the gates. He also provided the stage.

Balaam reportedly advised Ugandan artistes like Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Eddy Yawe to singer for charity, but among the three it was Eddy Yawe who performed. Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool refused and went back.

As you read this, Mr.Nice is yet to solicits funds and pay for the booze of the hotel, but Abtex is nowhere to be seen. #mrnice#
