News coming in is that the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga was found dead in his bed.

Cyprian Kizito Lwanga,  68, is a Ugandan Roman Catholic prelate who has been serving as the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kampala. He was appointed as Archbishop of Kampala on 19 August 2006.

The Bible in Romans 14: 8 says, “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, in January this year raised concern over the manner in which a number of priests had openly expressed support for certain candidates in the race for political positions in 2021.

He said a number of videos emerged on social media platforms showing priests criticizing the government and sometimes directly showing the candidate they supported and campaigning for them on the pulpit. According to Archbishop Kizito Lwanga, that could brew divisions among the believers.

Kiiza Besigye says, ” Most shocking announcement! After leading the Uganda Joint Christian  Council on the Way of the Cross and celebrating mass yesterday, he retires to join the Lord. Shocking beyond words. Great loss for the country at a very difficult time. My thoughts are with Catholic Church and all people of faith.”

In his last public appearance, the late Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga condemned kidnaps by security agencies. However, the clergy man suffered from diabetes and hypertension.
