Uganda Police harvests much from defilement cases

It is surprising how Uganda Police is pressing down defilement cases. The Drone Media has learnt with deep sorrow that police officers have been getting loads of cash to kill defilement cases.

Defilement is a capital offense tried by high court and therefore the lower courts have no powers to try the suspects who commit offense of defilement. Police officers use this to their advantage.

The Drone Media has established that many defilement entries that are opened up at police counters do not go beyond Criminal Investigations (CID) bosses. This is because the suspects always buy these cases off.

It has also been established that many rich men alias tycoons in Kampala, have been dragged to police over defilement but such cases have never seen the light of the day.

Example of such tycoons is one hotelier who reportedly has a penchant for young girls and has been secretly defiling girls from a posh school on Entebbe Road. The tycoon also allegedly sleeps with his own daughters and that he started sleeping with them when they were very young.

Many police counters visited by The Drone Media had many defilement cases entered than what went to state attorneys. This new channel will publish defilement committed by city tycoons but never saw the light of the day.

Surprisingly, some of the defilement cases, the victims are blackmailed because the suspects have money and sometimes connivance with police officers is the key.
