Kale Kayihura’s private chauffer disappears

 

A man who reportedly was a private chauffer, chauffeuring Kale Kayihura’s wife, and other domestic works in the village, has disappeared.

Reports that are reaching this news channel, indicate that a one Kalinzi John Martin, who has a military background, had spent a year working at former Inspector General of Police (IGP)’s home as a driver.

By the press time the whereabouts of Kalinzi John Martin were unknown.

According to our sources, Kalinzi John Martin, joined UPDF SFC in 2002, trained from Kabamba Military Training  School, he then did a VIP course at Kasenyi Training wing.

Unfortunately, Kalinzi deserted the army in 2006. This was the time when people trained in security guarding were on high demand in a war torn Iraq.

Attracted by high price of salary and given his qualification as a trained soldier, Kalinzi fled to Iraq.

He worked for two years in Iraq when the contract expired, he returned home. He later went to South Africa and spent some time there before he went to Afghanistan.

When he came back in 2014, was arrested by UPDF from Kashumba and was straight taken back to Luzira maximum prison in 2015, where he was charged with desertion.

Kalinzi reportedly escaped from prison but was rearrested and sentenced to two years in prison.

More charges of procuring and execution of travel false documents were laid on him until Buganda road court acquitted him in 2017.

As soon as Kalinzi gained his freedom he reportedly got connected to the former IGP as his private driver doing his private programmes by then Mbarara DPC Jeffery Magezi.

According to sources who could not reveal themselves, it is believed that on the day Kayihura was arrested, Kalinzi John Martin was the one driving a Toyota Premio saloon car with Kayihura’s mobile phones to Rwanda border.

Kalinzi has since been arrested and disappeared from police in Mbarara, where it’s said he went into hiding to date.
