President meets his guests

His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni has extended an invitation to Al-Shehhi Saif, an investor from the United Arab Emirates who is based in the United States of America, to come and do business in Uganda.
.
He urged the businessman to participate in the exploitation of the country’s immense natural resources that are yet to be exploited.

“Uganda is endowed with immense unexploited natural resources and a potential to produce anything on earth especially in the agriculture sector. All that is needed is to add value onto the available products through processing,” President Museveni explained to the investor.

The President who received the UAE investor and his delegation at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhuura District on Saturday discussed with his guest strategic areas of investment in Uganda.

President Museveni assured his guests that the country is blessed with a diversity of environmental features that are able to support profitable investments in any sector being in agriculture and livestock, among others.

Al-Shehhi Saif, is the President of Peace Without Limit (PWL) International Organization as well as Head of Earth Peace Research Centre for Strategic Studies and Environmental Research (EPRC).

His Excellency Museveni and his guests further discussed possible investment in coffee processing, tourism and micro-finance development schemes focusing on the economic empowerment of the youth in the country.

This comes at a time when news about Youth Livelihood Project (YLP) funds are reportedly embezzled by the permanent secretary, Pius Bigirimana.

About sh 28 bn is reportedly blown and scanty accountability is shown. This means that the permanent secretary has frustrated the project.

However, the president was spot on there is too much in store; unprocessed raw materials galore here in Uganda. What is needed here is a serious investor.

True to her description, Uganda is the Pearl of Africa. Churchill was very right to describe it so.
