Pandemonium at State House as delegate’s phone plays Bobi Wine’s Engule song

By Angela Nyakuni

There was a pandemonium at State House, Entebbe recently when a phone belonging to one of the delegates from Ntungamo played Hon Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s song.

The song, “Tuliyambala Engule,” was saved as a ringtone on the delegate’s phone, but it raised security concern.  The security officers wondered and queried the delegate, ” what was your intention?” ” If you loved Bobi Wine, why did you come over here?”  She claimed her children saved that ringtone, but the security officers asked her, ” whose children did it? She replied, “mine.”

She was chased from the meeting and  told never to joke with her life again. Well, the delegate was one of the Ruhama women, who had gone to visit the first lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, to discuss developmental issues in their constituency.

These delegates were hand picked by a trusted campaign manager of Hon Janet Kataaha Museveni, who thought they were all royal, but it dawned on her when she was called by security officers at the gate to explain how and why she brought a fugitive!

You all know that whoever visits State House either switches off their phones or leave it in silent mode and leave them at the gate. The naïve delegate did not switch off her phone, but handed it to the security officers. No sooner had she handed it to the officers had the phone played Bobi Wine’s song Tuliyambala Engule.

Furious and bitter officers hurriedly called the delegate to return. It was an embarrassment! The delegate was embarrassed, but also the trusted campaign manager. Both parties were interrogated, and in the end it was only the delegated who was chased.

The question was, “did she really intend to show the love she had towards Bobi Wine or it was ignorance driving her sentiments? Your guess is as good as of this author, but you can tell the public what you think, by commenting below.
