Eddy Kenzo and Matt B lose Grammy Award

Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo and American singer Matt B lost the award of the best global performance to South African artistes Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode.
The three South Africans musicians recorded a song they called “Bayethe” which they submitted to the organisers of the Grammy awards 2023.
Despite losing the award, Eddy Kenzo remained grateful for the nomination and used his social media platforms to announce the results to his fans in Uganda
“And the baby went to South African. Thank you for the support my people I’m forever grateful. Viva Uganda. This is just the beginning mbagala nyo,” he posted
Before the awards took place, Kenzo and Matt B were given nomination medals
He said the medal was a sign of victory on his side because he never expected to go that much far in his music career
“It’s already a win. For us who follow you and know your history, it’s already a WIN to get nominated for Grammy. Congratulations my brother Eddy Kenzo!,” he added
The award of the global best performance category had five competitors that included Eddy kenzo(Uganda) and Matt B collaboration of the song Gimme Love.
Others were Arooj Aftab & Anoushka Shankar in their song– “Udhero Na”
Arooj Aftab is a Pakistani singer, composer, and producer based in the United States.
She works in various musical styles and idioms, including jazz while Anoushka Shankar (born 9 June 1981) is a British-American sitar player and music artist
Others were Nigerian recording artiste Burna Boy with his song “Last Last”
Another group was of Rocky Dawuni featuring Blvk H3ro in their song “Neva Bow Down”
Rocky Dawuni is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and record producer who performs his signature ‘Afro Roots’ sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife and Soul music.
He currently lives between Ghana and Los Angeles whereas Blvk H3ro was born and raised Born Hervin,a Augustus Bailey Jr, young H3ro grew up in Waterford, a neighborhood in Portmore, Jamaica and became famous for producing songs of the jailed dancehall icon Vybz Kartel
