Entebbe Airport Police intercepts 12 young girls destined to Saudi Arabia

Uganda Police Force on 8th October, 2019 intercepted  12 young  girls who were being trafficked to Saudi Arabia by yet to be identified traffickers.

The Drone Media has learnt that the traffickers failed to meet the demands of the operatives thereafter the girls were intercepted  at around 1300hrs at the Departures’ lounge, Entebbe International Airport.

The 12 girls were scheduled to Saudi Arabia for work as house. They had almost everything but the people who were taking them were not licensed and not even registered.

The girls, all dressed in uniforms (white T-shirts with Arabic writings) purporting to be a registered company where as not.

Police says preliminary findingds indicate that this is a ghost company.

The 12 girls were all on one way ticket aboard Emirates (Fly Emirates).

On interviewing the victims, it was discovered that they were recruited by Awali Umaru and some other individual only identified as Yasin. The two are said to be businessmen in Kampala who had briefed the girls from Freedom City, before departing to the airport in one taxi.

A General inquiry file has been opened to investigate circumstances under which these girls were recruited, allegedly from different parts of the country.

The girls are:

1.Kirabo Prisca
2. Nansasi Edwing
3. Nalumu Zulaika
4. Nakafero Josephine
5. Nantale Margret
6. Nanangwe fina
7. Nakalema Jesca
8.Nanyondo Giriyida
9. Nakalema Naume
10. Nabasumba Josephine
11. Tiperu Scovia
12. Ndibaza Annet

“We suspect that this could be a case of Human trafficking,” says police.

The girls are currently being held at Aviation Police in Entebbe, for their own safety as investigations continue.

We urge the relatives of these girls, or anyone who knows any of them to help Police with further investigations.

However, this is common at Entebbe International Airport. The Drone Media established that  if one doesn’t give money to security operatives, they always frustrate travellers especially those who need extra migration papers.
