Gen. Salim Saleh impersonator nabbed

Gen. (Rtd) Salim Saleh impersonator has been nabbed. In fact, these are many, they normally use Salim Saleh and Maama Fiina.

One among many at large visited our social media handles and thereafter sent a message that Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) had interest in The Drone Media projects, which that conman claimed was falsely funding.

To cut the long story short; he promised sh25m and directed us to a one Kasagga, but when we rang Kasagga he asked for sh400,000 for fuel. We asked Kasagga, “can’t you deduct sh400,000 from the sh25m? The deal ended in tears!

As you read this, the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) has arrested a fraudster  who has been impersonating Gen. (Rtd) Caleb Akandwanaho Salim Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

The suspect known as Asiimwe Andrew Mark, was arrested on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from Nyamitanga, Rwizi Cell, Katete in Mbarara City.

For quite some time, this guy had abused social media, especially Facebook,   impersonating Gen. Saleh and fraudulently taking money from gullible Ugandans using all manner of schemes.

He opened a Facebook page in the name of the Gen. Saleh and issued a communication to the effect that the General was taking recruits to Canada to work as security guards.

He also solicited money from Ugandans claiming he was a member of staff of Operation Wealth (OWC). People were asked to pay in order to access the free materials for both Crop and Animal Husbandry. Asiimwe reportedly made colossal sums of money from gullible members of the public. Many have fallen victim to his schemes.

Asiimwe is infamous for disguising himself by wearing hoods to avoid the public’s eye. Gen Saleh tasked the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) to apprehend the fraudster.

Speaking to the press, Gen. Saleh said he was happy the fraudster who had misrepresented him for years has finally been arrested.

“His arrest will deter others. Please help educate the public not to fall prey to such orchestrations,” Gen. Saleh advised.
