Hon Jovah Kamateeka wants gays to be jailed for life

Ugandan MP who wants gay people jailed for life was given privilege of speaking in House of Commons.
Jovah Kamateeka was invited and welcomed to glittering Downing Street for a reception with Theresa May as part of a conference celebrating female MPs around the world.

Jovah Kamateeka – who claimed gay marriage will hasten “the end of the world” – spoke in Parliament at the Women MPs of the World Conference. Jovah Kamateeka was among 120 female politicians from 86 countries who met in parliament to discuss the fight for women’s rights.

In a speech during the conference, pioneered by veteran Labour MP Harriet Harman and held in the House of Commons chamber, Ms Kamateeka boasted Uganda’s constitution “guarantees human rights”.
She was also invited to a reception in No10 where Theresa May told delegates: “We’re helping give women a greater voice.”

In the conference where the Leader of the House was Andrea Leadsom, Ms Mordaunt gave a speech in which she listed the many achievements of the women attending including promoting “rights for the most marginalised women – women with disabilities, women who are lesbian, bisexual or transgender and those living with HIV/aids”.

However, Kamateeka is a leading supporter of a Ugandan anti-homosexuality law that wants to punish “aggravated homosexuality” with a life sentence.
