Kidnaps happening in Uganda linked to rebellion

The wave of kidnaps that has taken Ugandans by surprise is a form of rebellion.

A highly placed security source has informed The Drone Media that terrorists are behind this criminal act.

The security source said that terrorists are financing people behind kidnaps.

” These people(kidnappers) ask for money but they don’t need it. They throw it away whenever the ransom is paid,” reveals the security source.

The source added that big sums of money come in form of materials; imports; they pass through individuals abroad who export goods that they sell here cheaply and get money to execute their mission.

According to the security source the late Susan Magara case introduced the terrorists into this form/method which they discovered would work well to discredit the government.

Kidnappers, according to the security source aim at discrediting the government, but they are not after money as many believe.

The kidnaps are mainly carried out by Allied Democratic Force (ADF) remnants, who are reportedly financed by terrorists. After realizing there were some loopholes in security they tactfully grabbed the opportunity and did havoc.

Since last year, there have been widespread reports of arrests, abductions and torture in Uganda. Hundreds of people have claimed to have been seized by security forces, while hundreds more may still be unaccounted for.

It is difficult, however, to get a clear picture of what is happening. The government has repeatedly denied claims or hidden the truth. Meanwhile, opposition supporters’ claims are not always verified, especially those shared in the maelstrom of social media.

To get a more accurate picture, we interviewed dozens of former abductees, the families of missing people and state authorities, all kept anonymous for their own protection. Here is a brief guide of what we know and what we don’t. All this is linked to rebellion.
