Journalist Allen Kisige passes on

Allen Kisige has passed on.  Kisige a journalist by profession, was  a former councilor who represented Rubaga North in the KCCA (Kampala Capital City Authority).
She worked for Capital Fm and Voice of Kigezi. She will also be remembered for being a die-hard supporter of Democratic Party (DP). Likewise, she was the only woman who sought to replace Beti Olive Kamya the former Rubaga North MP.
Kisige was also using door-to-door campaign to win the constituency. She would start her door-to-door campaigns from as early as 8am to 6pm in the evening talking to voters and distributing handbills.
Doreen Akware eulogizes, “It is so unfortunate that we have lost you. Gone too soon dear Allen,very promising Pillar to the social economic and political development of this country and as DP Women League we have lost you. Our party has lost a fighter full of energy. Rest in peace dear Big mama, Big Spender.”
In 2004 Allen Kisige turned to be the most beautiful fat lady. The State Minister for Health in Charge of General duties Capt Mike Mukula decorated Voice of Kigezi reporter and was assisted by a previous year’s winner Judith Nabwire.

 

Fifteen fat beauties including Allen Kisige, from all over the country, queued up on the catwalk at the finals of Ekimuli Kya Uganda (Miss Fat event) .  Gates were open at 6:00pm and Revelers had to part with sh15,000. Jackie Kaluya a shop attendant from Jinja took the second position while Jalia Mukaaya became the third.
The show was spiced up with performances by prominent local artistes Jose Chameleone, the Eagles Production group including Catherine Kusasira and Diamond Production.

 

The winner walked away with sh1m for the ladies (Allen Kisige) and sh500,000 for the men. First and second runners-up took sh700,000 and sh500,000 respectively (for women) while the first runner-up for men walked away with cash prize of sh300,000. All participants got sh100,000 each.  The show was sponsored by Tiner International School of Beauty, New Jamaica Hardware , CBS FM and Katumwa Sports Centre.
