Majambere Kamuntu Ivan’s life is at risk. According to a chit written and signed by Kamuntu Semakula Ivan Majambere his life is threatened.

The letter is addressed to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba saying the enemies of “our government” want to kill him.

His letter reads in verbatim:

To.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the next President of Uganda

Dear General,

Re: The enemies of Our Government want to kill me.

The above subject matter refers,
I am receiving calls and text messages threatening to kill me unless I join them in real activities against the state. They have given me an ultimatum of seven days, where am going to leave my 27 children.

I appeal to you to come to my rescue to get personal security.

Late last year,  towards the end of October,  Majambere was almost burried with late Jakana Sulaiman Nadduli, the son of Mzee Abdul Nadduli.

The country witnessed an ugly  scene of a violent scuffle that ensued during the burial ceremony of Jakana Sulaiman Nadduli, the son of Mzee Abdul Nadduli  that culminated in chaos and mayhem.

The incident involved a mob of alleged mourners violently assaulting Ivan Kamuntu Majambere for reasons not yet established.

Mob action infringes on the victim’s right to presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent Court. It also results into acts of torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and many times results into loss of life which has far reaching consequences on the families of victims.

In several videos recorded and shared after the attack, Majambere who had just been rescued from mob action was overheard threatening more violence in the presence of police.
UHRC statement was issued hours after the Minister of Information, Dr Chris Baryomunsi questioned the silence of “human rights defenders” over Majambere’s mob attack.
Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) later asked police to probe the violent scenes witnessed during the burial ceremony of the late Suleiman Jakana Nadduli, a social media activist and government critic.
A section of Opposition and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters clashed at Jakana’s burial at Kadunda Village, Nakaseke District, leaving several people injured.
