Man arrested for selling Dogs’ meat

They say a picture tells a story of a thousand words. These photos will tell you a story of a man who has been arrested selling dogs’ meat.
Pity those travellers with exaggerated appetitre who grab as many sticks of roasted meat while on the road as you cannot count. Today, after reading this story, they will vomit or develop a running stormach accompanied by boogling mind.
But under Ugandan law, is it illegal to sell dog meat? Well, to the best of our knowledge, there’s no specific law against selling dogs’ meat. However, the “Public Health Act” provides that anyone selling meat should have it inspected in order to determine it’s fit for human consumption.
“If we were in those countries where it is allowed to sell dog meat then we would agree but since this is Uganda then we just have to be cautious of what we sell to our fellow citizens since it is a taboo to sell it/ However, I am of an opinion that those who sell it do that as a result of the high level of poverty,” opinionated Judith Nayiga.
Onyiko Denis says, “that is real prima facie let the law then not act retrospectively I recommend they only face charges on selling un inspected meat if they did not.”
Prima facie is a Latin expression meaning at first sight or based on first impression. The literal translation would be ‘at first face’ or ‘at first appearance’, from the feminine forms of primus and facies, both in the ablative case.
