Tax payers’ money is illegally lent out to mobile money operators and Kafunna

The Drone Media has exclusively learnt that officials in various government departments and ministries, lend money to mobile money operators and the people who operate loan shackles (locally known as Kaduna).

This is, of course, done illegally and the officials use tax payers’ money meant for salaries and official budgets to serve their individual interests.

According to our snoops, this ill behaviour is common in the Ministry of Education; Ministry of Gender and Youths; and the Finance Ministry.

Whereas the Finance Ministry officials use capitation grants, which they claim is always idle for some time, the rest use money meant for projects.

Snoops can confirm that a big beneficiary in this local money laundering, is a businessman from Mbarara, who is known for Kafunna.

The Drone Media has also gathered that some of these officials at times make big losses. This is when they deal with the crooks and they don’t return the money. Since this money is illegally given out, the officials don’t use police; they instead use other means.

These are some of the unexplainable murders in the city or other serious quarrels that always hide behind dirty politics.

In the Ministry of Education, some under secretary withdrew about sh1 billion which he gave to individuals who had laid a good deal for him but it never was.

The crooks approached the under secretary with genuine business.  Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) was auctioning goods and these people did not have money. They told the under secretary give us money we go and pay for the goods and we shall return sh1.5 billions.

Unfortunately, they never returned any money. The under secretary had to find other means of recovering the money. A question, where did he get the money? May be ghost teachers were created?

This is one example, but we are told most officials are doing it. We promise to publish a full list with money they swindled and how it went.
