This week, The Rockefeller Foundation announced additional funding and a National Covid-19 Testing Action Plan for reopening the workplaces and communities in a safer way.

In his annual letter, Dr. Rajiv J. Shah committed $50 million to fight the current Covid-19 pandemic and highlighted their plan to meet this moment, which includes tackling the social and economic consequences of the outbreak.

“These resources will allow us and our partners to start making a difference immediately, including by implementing our National Covid-19 Testing Action Plan, created to scale-up testing for Americans and ensure that we can all get back to work sooner,” states Dr. Rajiv in his annual letter.

This plan, which focuses on testing, contact tracing, and developing a coordinated data platform is a crucial part of their bid to limit the negative impact of the coronavirus.

As part of the ongoing efforts, they also recently launched an updated version of their website, which now features a page dedicated specifically to Covid-19 resources for the public and is designed to help find the insights and information needed easily.

In his annual letter, Dr. Shah explains how the Foundation is #MeetingThisMoment. This includes a financial commitment over the next two years to respond to the current pandemic and prevent the next one, fight existing and emerging crises of hunger and malnutrition, and help workers, families, and vulnerable communities get through this time.

Their Plan outlines how to scale up testing in the United States and reopen our workplaces and communities in a safer way. It involves three key objectives: increasing testing production and supplies; establishing a Covid Community Healthcare Corps; and creating a data commons and a digital platform to support the first two objectives.

This new page includes information about The Rockefeller Foundation’s initiatives related to the Covid-19 pandemic and links to access essential resources for you and your family during the pandemic.
