WHERE IS THE LAND FOR COMMON BAGANDA?

A friend came to my office at our law firm and he posed this question to me for advice. “You know Counsel I mean Honourable, we are the Baganda and no other Baganda are we keeping the land for.

In 1900 all mature Baganda got land where the King and all members of the royal family got their land. another land was given to Clan leaders as trustees for their clan members (Baganda) another land went to County and sub county leaders (8 & 30) miles.

For Baganda then in those counties and sub counties. The forest reserves, mountains , steep hills, valleys, wetlands, lake shores and river banks were protected by the Gavument enkuumi (protectorate) the 9000Sq miles were preserved for the benefit and occupation of the future Baganda and kept in hands of the protectorate.

These were returned in 1962 October 8th to Mengo. Obote took them over and now Museveni gives some to ULC and DLB later to Katikkiro Mayiga who hands them to Kiwalabye Male for selling and leasing. Then where is that share for the aforesaid future Baganda discussed above?” i know the answer but am a coward Muganda and i can’t see the “LION” when its mouth is open.
