Arena Mall was a birthday wish for Lawyer Charles Odere
In 2016 Counsel Charles Odere dream-wished he could build a fantastic shopping mall and reportedly narrated it to architects, who availed him an artistic impression of such mall.
Not surprising enough, in the following year, 2017 the ground was broken for the dream-wished mall. This is where Arena Mall is erected today. It is well documented that the good lawyer Charles Odere, has been participating in various activities relating to Arena Mall.
Therefore, Charles Odere’s dream-wish has been realized. In 2017 representatives from STANLIB Asset Management Limited, South Africa, gathered in Kampala with dignitaries, retailers and building professionals to attend to the sod-turning ceremony, marking the official launch of construction of The Arena Mall.
The Arena Mall was anchored by Shoprite and was to have a variety of shops such as Cafesserie, Aristoc Booklex, Timberland, and Century Cinemax.
Knight Frank Uganda was leading the leasing efforts, with over 50% of the lettable space in the Mall pre-let. The Mall opening was expected by September 2019. However, COVID-19 pandemic interfered and the opening is in 2021.
