The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Speaker Anita Annet Among has plotted for a censure motion against Joel Ssenyonyi reportedly to punish him over defiance.

Following the COSASE report that was dumped by speaker Among on grounds of leakage, Joel Ssenyonyi has wrote on his Twitter nine hours ago, “I’m told Speaker Anita Among called some of my committee members to her office & asked them to start a censure motion against me for “indiscipline” and “disobeying” Speaker’s orders. During the Uganda Airlines inquiry, she wrote to me this letter “guiding” me to lock the media out.

As it is, Speaker Among is faulted for protecting Uganda Airlines, which was evidently implicated by the COSASE report.  Worse still, the Auditor General’s report has also implicated the airlines and thus recommended harsh measures.

Despite the fact that all reports are implicating the airline, but the speaker is openly protecting it, is a cause to worry. Members of public have been discussing and wondering! Whoever says the truth into Speaker’s eyes he or she is blackmailed by censure motion. It started with Hon Francis Zaake, he was followed by the Mighty Minister Persis Namuganza and now it is Joel Ssenyonyi.

It is a pity that Speaker Among told parliament that the parliament will rather adopt the Auditors report about Uganda Airline Saga than the one of COSASE.

“Hon. Members of parliament, we are going to adopt the Auditor’s report because the one of COSASE was leaked out to the public before we could debate on it,” Speaker Among said.

Speaker Among also informed the house that parliament is investigating on who leaked the report to the public before parliament could discuss it.

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among also called for an audit into the performance of Parliament’s Committee on State Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

Among who is the Bukedea District Women representative in the 11th Parliament said the performance of the committee chaired by Nakawa West MP, Joel Ssenyonyi, a member of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) is of great concern.
