The attackers target to steal goats, according to the Police. Investigators said that the assailants (Karimojong warriors) were intercepted by the LDU personnel in Nangorit, who managed to recover some goats.

During the fire-exchange, Okoyi was shot in the leg while several thugs fled with wounds.
“Medics in the area have been put on alert to report to the Police (security personnel) any person who seeks treatment with bullet wounds,” said a source.

Experts have recovered cartridges from the scene as they continue to search for evidence. By press time, Okoyi was still nursing bullet wounds at Matany hospital.
