Askari shoots and kills inebriated Congolese tycoon at his gate

 Hot on the news desk is the report that a rich Congolese was coming from partying, arrived at his Muyenga -Bukasa mansion gate and the guard took long to open the gate. However, when he finally opened the gate, the seemingly inebriated rich Congolese hurled insults; which irked the askari, thinking it aimed at demeaning him.

Witnesses say the deceased said, “You will die poor, they brought you to man the gate, now you can’t do it better, that’s why you are poor.”  The insult kept the askari so hurt and as a result shot both wife and husband.

Now, Police at Kabalagala are investigating this double murder by  an askari who reportedly shot Katembo Siviwe, 33, a Congolese national, his girlfriend, who is currently not yet identified and the attempted murder of his care taker who is currently admitted at IHK Hospital.

The shooting took place yesterday 19th August around 1am in the morning at Katembo’s place in Bukasa, Makindye Division, Kampala City. It is alleged that Raphael Okwanga, a security guard of D-GAP, guarding the victims’ home. Police says that the askari reportedly got annoyed over yet to be known reason. He then shot dead Katembo and his girlfriend and later injured the care taker .

The police were informed about the incident and they responded. The suspect, Okwanga, was arrested and is currently detained at Kabalagala Police Station on allegations of murder.

All the bodies of the deceased persons have been conveyed to the city mortuary at Mulago Hospital for a post mortem. The killer weapon and cartridges have been recovered. The crime scene has been secured for further analysis.

Some of the exhibits have been submitted for analysis at police Forensic Services laboratory. The case file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice .
