UGANDA POLICE BUS GOES MISSING IN KAMPALA

Police in Kampala are hunting for one of the force’s buses, which is believed to have been stolen under unclear circumstances.

The bus Registration Number UP 5484 was reported missing since Sunday afternoon.

According to AIGP Godfrey Bangirana who heads the Police Directorate of Engineering and Logistics, the bus was last seen at around 1:00pm on Sunday, being driven along the Kampala Northern Bypass.

Bangirana says the bus was being driven by one of their officers who he only identified as CPL/DRV Mwase.

In an internal memo which was sent to all District Police commanders, the Director Traffic Stephen Kasiima, all Regional Police Commanders and all Units, AIGP Bangirana revealed that the bus driver was still on the run.

The Drones have gathered that the police officers attached to the bus devised quick means of getting rich in this Christmas season, whereby desperate passengers board anything that moves.

Therefore, the officers went out to make money by ferrying passengers going to villages. However, it is illegal and they did not inform authorities.

Surprisingly, Afande Bangirana who reportedly put the cost of Natete police post at sh100bn is the one making alarm that the bus has been stolen.
