Bobi Wine Kyagulanyi taken to Kiruddu Hospital

Ugandan pop star and MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been halted from leaving the country.

Bobi Wine claimed he was to seek medical treatment.  A police statement released Thursday evening, August 30, 2018, stated that the two MPs Hon Zaake and Hon Robert Kyagulanyi were halted to first get medical examination by government doctors.

On Monday, a judge  who presided over the Arua Election case, said Bibi Wine did not constitute a flight risk and granted him bail along with 32 other opposition politicians who had also been charged.

Unfortunately, Bobi Wine who had not been cleared by security attempted to flee the country and he was apprehended and taken to Kiruddu Hospital.

A lawyer for Bobi Wine confirmed the stubborn legislator was re-arrested on Thursday evening at Entebbe International Airport.

“He was re-arrested at the airport, even though the judge had let him have his passport because he needed to leave the country for medical reasons,” Robert Amsterdam told the press.

It should be remembered that Amsterdam was blocked by the government of Uganda to litigate Bibi Wine’s cases.

His wife Barbra Kyagulanyi alleges, “He was violently thrown into a police ambulance. The lawyers have no idea where he is being taken and we’re all really in shock,” she added.

His aides say he was re-arrested at Uganda’s main international airport where he was planning to board a plane to Washington to seek further medical treatment.

“He’s in tremendous pain and suffered very serious injuries,” Amsterdam said of the MP’s condition. “There’s not a part of his body that isn’t in pain.”

“His children were going to stay in Uganda. It was a brief trip, simply for a medical evaluation,” he said.

Many Ugandans are wondering why Amsterdam is so much concerned. He instead, ill advise his calculated client. Their relationship is questionable.
