CEO Uganda National Airlines Limited accused

The CEO of Uganda National Airlines Limited has been accused of impersonation, corruption, and conflict of interests.

According to the findings on the Ag. CEO of Uganda Airlines Limited in regard to her names, changed names and actions in her dealings:

On 13th February 2019, Musiime Jenifer Bamuturaki signed a deed poll renouncing her names to the new names as Jenifer Arnold Lenkai.

On 6th March 2019, the deep poll was filled with Uganda Registration Bureau, making the process of renouncing the original names legal and binding.

On 1st April 2019, Jenifer was offered a contract as a Commercial Director under her old names of Jenifer B. Musiime. She signed the contract in the names of Jenifer Bamuturaki Lenkai. The two names show different people. By accepting the contract in different meant legally the contract was invalid as the two names mean different people.

The Ag. CEO was transacted in all her official duties at the Airline during the time she worked as commercial Director in her old names that she renounced and never disclosed her changed names.

She is currently appointed as Jenifer Musiime Bamuturaki as Ag. CEO, a name that she renounced. She is also transacting on behalf of the Airline in these old names that she officially renounced. She has never disclosed her change of names.

There is a possibility of the appointment of the Ag. CEO in her old names.  Her appointment in the same names as a Commercial Director could have been null and void (subject to legal confirmation) considering that these names were renounced. The person in the old names does no longer exist, but she knowingly refused to disclose for reasons best known to her.

The names Arnold Lenkai are for Mark Arnold Lenkai, the Group Managing Director of Abbavater Group Limited. The company that was appointed as event managers for the receipt of the first CRJs in April 2019, single-handedly at the recommendation of Jenifer.

Jenifer worked for Abbavater as a staff before joining the Airline as evidenced in the attached email of June 2018 from Abbavater MD to the Manager of Ethiopian Airlines giving updates of the work they were undertaking.

The Group MD of Abbavater is a pastor of Jenifer in her local church. Appointing Abbavater as a PR agency was a process driven by Jenifer in July 2019 after she joined the Airline to represent the Airline in 6 Countries. It was due to the conflict of interest she had with the company she was working for, whose Group MD was well known to her as her pastor and were in a relationship and this is proved by the change of her names and adopting the names of the Abbavater owner.

What is of interest is that Abbavater at the time getting this big PR contract was awarded USD 540,000 for one year, a figure that was quite high in addition to the agency not having offices or associated companies in all companies it was meant to represent at the Airline. This led to no value for money obtained from this contract. Had it not been the conflict of interest proved above, this contract would not have been awarded to Abbavater.

On 7th June 2019, when Jenifer was already a staff of Uganda Airlines, she emailed Abbavater Group MD (Mark), Abbavater MD (Joyce) and other people, directing them to allocate the funds of Abbavater Agency in paying their Church Ministry staff confirming her involvement in the day today operations of the Agency.

In this specific email she was using her new acquired names and email of Jenifer Lenkai. The interpretation of this is that Jennifer changed her names for purposes of being able to deal with Abbavater in her new acquired names without being detected, which is a fraudulent act.

The change of names and willingly and knowingly not disclosing it publically could have been done to facilitate her corruption tendencies. This also proves that Jenifer was involved in day to day operations of Abbavater which she was supervising as the head of the user department in Uganda Airlines which is a MAJOR CONFLICT OF INTEREST

It is based on some of the above matters of conflict of interest and incompetence upon completion of the six months’ probation period as well as matters on her below per performance that the Board decided to relieve her of her duties. After her termination, she turned the story around, lied to the Head of State and blamed the Board and Management of the exact issues she was terminated if (incompetence, conflict of interest and corruption).
