Evelyn Lugolobi takes her mother to court over estate

A biological mother to the wife of the State Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Hon Amos Lugolobi is in tears and has appealed to President Museveni to intervene in issues which involve her own daughter, who has allegedly vowed to finish her off over properties.

Mary Bwogi, 79, an NRM mobilizer and a widow to the late former UTV Director Bwogi who was butchered by late Idi Amin, claims her life is in danger.

” I appeal to President Museveni to help save my life. My daughter Evelyn Nakimera Lugolobi, wife to Hon Amos Lugolobi and others at large are determined to kill me. Strange people are ever following me, others often trespass my residence especially now that I no longer have police guards,”  revealed the ailing NRM staunch mobilizer who reportedly suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes and other complications.

Bwogi is currently facing jail if court deems fit after her daughter M/S Nakimera filed a case of forgery against her mother.

The case at Buganda Road court registered as CR-409/2017, Uganda vs Mary Bwogi and Balintuma her other son stems from a complaint at police that the two forged Nakimera’s signature to reach an understanding as requested by high court judge Mukiibi as the two parties were bickering over a family estate.

However, Bwogi says that the case is a guise for Nakimera to torture her and even delay multiple compensations accruing from UNRA, UMEME and other agencies who leased or used the contentious family estates .

” I am now sick but cannot meet medication because all money has been blocked by Nakimera directly or through these bogus endless cases. The child I mothered and nursed through the tough times of Idi Amin because her daddy left her about four months, now she wants me dead . My son in-law; her husband is also an accomplish I can say; how can he keep staying with my daughter who wants to finish me without advising otherwise?” said Bwogi to near tears.

At court last Thursday, the case before her worship Doreen Kalungi of court 5, sitting was extended to 12th November, after Bwogi’s new lawyers of Nakagga & Co Advocates asked court to give them time to study the details of the matter.

Bwogi’s family is embroiled in a deep estates war between Nakimera on one side and her mother and with the three surviving children.

The family inherited a vast estate with mailo land in Entebbe, Nakulabye, Luweero, Mityana and Mpigi stretches way back from the prominent Buganda Chief Balituma from whom Balintuma Road connecting Nakulabye to Bulange was named. Balintuma was the great grand father of Mary Bwogi’s late husband, late Bwogi inherited all this property which has split the family.
