By our reporter

A girl who reportedly used to eat her fellow girls as in sexual consumption, is on run. The Drone Media has learnt that Police in Luwero has resumed the hunt for her.

ChristineNakito passport No. B1016953 who is on alleged charges of sexual assault and luring young girls into acts of lesbianism, is in hiding but police is on her hunt.

Nakito is said to have lured a minor girl into sexual actions after deceiving her of getting pen pals.

According to police authorities in Luwero, the crime was committed some time back in January, 2019 in Central zone.

The case was first reported in Wobulenzi as GEF067/2019 but the file miraculously went missing prompting the mother of the victim to complain at Luwero police headquarters to prevail over the matter and the hunt for her is on.

Nakito who is said to be in hiding is a known lesbian and the general public is hereby urged to report her to authorities on sight.

Recently, there have been stories of girls as young as nine being sold for sex in temporary ‘marriages’ that can last as little as an hour, the press reports revealed.

Therefore Nakito’s story is not an isolated incident. However, it is a bad case as regards the local culture.

Although the bill against homosexuality was signed, but later on revoked; Uganda’s penal code is against it.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT)persons in Uganda face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Activists estimated in 2007 that the Ugandan LGBT community consisted of 500,000 people.

In August 2014, the Uganda Constitutional Court annulled the law. Nonetheless, LGBT people continue to face major discrimination in Uganda, actively encouraged by political and religious leaders.

Violent and brutal attacks against LGBT people are common, often performed by state officials. Households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-sex couples. Same-sex marriage has been constitutionally banned since 2005.
